Heeyaahh... I've been swimming for 3days consecutively hahahass... It's fucking boring as I only can do breaststroke so far.. My swimming course will begin in two days so I must be patient for that..
I really want to attend PADI OW Course in Bali and they require me to do a non-stop 200m swimming and 10 mins water treading. Both are exhausting for my current level haha.. but I've read some attendants just floated on their back instead of treading so that's an awful lot easier lolz.. XD
But, the real instant benefit is...
It helps reducing my back pain!! Do you know that I have scoliosis??

Above is an Xray photo of a scoliosis patient taken from google.. not mine, but my spine is similar to that.. I had S-curved though the degree isn't that serious.. however, it troubles me with back pain or neck pain, mainly if I get exhausted or lack of sleeping -_-
I've been told that swimming is good since eons ago.. and I've been told that I need to do a particular exercise to help my scoliosis but I was really a nut hahahah... It's until I suffer from those pain recently that I start to exercise. But as I hate sweating, I opt for swimming instead.. :P
I search on internet and find that there are so many people suffer from this abnormalities. Well~~ at least I'm not alone.. and in case you're wondering whether you had scoliosis or not, these signs might help you figure out..
- one shoulder appears to be higher than the other
- there are curvatures in spine
- pelvis appears to be tilted
- your left/ right ribs are more prominent than other side's ribs.
- for women, one boob appears larger than the other
Prevention is always better.. It's too late if you figure it now (if you're at my age~).. they say that it's uncureable (but can't get worser as well as your growth process has already slow down or stopped) and the most precise way to get it back straight is thru a surgery that requires you a 6 months bed-rest.. like wtf?? Hahahah... However, you can add little help thru regular exercising like swimming, yoga, or pilates. I've just re-started my swimming exercise and it already helps reducing the pain. I can sleep much better now... :)
I also read that scoliosis can induce great pain during pregnancy (cos we'll be carrying huge weight and our spines support that weight) and women with scoliosis should avoid high heels. Well~~ I don't really like high heels as they are not comfortable for walking.. but they're fucking sexy for party yeah.. hehes.. I don't feel pain on my spine thou I wear high heels for quite long time.. the pain is on my legs -__-"" But this gives me perfect excuse to buy cutie flat shoes I found two days ago on Sogo.. hahahahaha~~~
