the tales of the otori

Off days is over and I’m back to clinic again.. My plan to study Oral Med during the holiday was just a plan, never executed hahaha.. I was sick, okay? And Oral Med books aren’t entertaining hahaha..

I’ve just bought the book, Kisah 47 Ronin (or The 47 Ronin Story) but forgot to upload the picture sorry. xD~ I thought it’s good but IMO, it didn’t.. It comes from Matahati Publisher who also publish The Tales of the Otori which I fall in love with, so that’s why I think The 47 Ronin Story is good also.. It’s reviewed great on newspaper, too. Just, not good to my taste perhaps haha.. :P

The Tales of the Otori themselves include Across the Nightingale Floor, Grass for His Pillow, Brilliance of the Moon, Harsh Cry of the Heron, and Heaven’s Net is Wide. I own the first three, and already read the fourth book and plan to buy it :) I can’t find the fifth book anywhere and not sure whether Matahati really publish the book or not cos on their web, it’s also OoS. I once saw the International Edition in Periplus, but I think I’m gonna collect the translated version la first. If I still can’t find it, then I’ll go buy the English version haha.. This series is good! At first I thought that Lian Hearn, the writer, was a guy, hahah.. cos she writes like a guy, which I love! If you like samurai-related stories, you should check these books out! I mostly like stories related to cultures or history (exception for Harry Potter and Twilight of course lololol…), e.g. about samurai, ninjas, chinese tradition, and... holocausts, really..
